The psalmist cries out to God for justice against the wicked who oppress the innocent and arrogantly believe they will escape judgment. He reminds readers that the God who created our eyes and ears sees and hears everything, and that no injustice escapes His attention. The psalm concludes with confidence that God is the refuge and stronghold of His people and will ultimately bring judgment upon the wicked.
When injustice seems to prevail and wrongdoing goes unpunished, we can rest in the assurance that God sees everything and will ultimately make things right. Rather than allowing bitterness or revenge to consume us, we can entrust our circumstances to the righteous Judge who never fails.
